DB chief says a mob-like situation developed at the DBC office in Mohakhali, from where he was taken to the headquarters for questioning.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) has taken ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's former information adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury into custody for questioning.
He was taken to the DB headquarters on Minto Road around noon for questioning, DB Chief Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
A DBC News employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Iqbal Sobhan is a member of the DBC chairman's board, which also has a "BNP-aligned member."
A dispute between the two led to a tense situation at the DBC TV office today, the employee said.
The DB later took Iqbal Sobhan into custody from the office.
The DB chief said a "mob-like situation" had developed at the DBC office before police took Iqbal Sobhan away.
"We brought him from there to the DB office for questioning. We will provide details after questioning," he said.
